Perle and Ed

A 32-bar Reel for 3 couples

Devised by Oberdan Otto
Inscribed to Perle and Ed Feldman

1-8:
First couple lead down, cross down between third couple, cast up behind third couple, cross up between second couple and cast off to second place.
9-16:
All three couples turn partner with both hands once round in four bars using skip change of step. All dance clockwise halfway round to the opposite side of the set.
17-24:
Repeat bars 9-16 back to own side of set.
25-32:
All slip step (both hands joined) down the set for two bars and slip step back up the set. Retaining hands, all set once, then releasing hands dance a "Petronella" turn to the right into own sides.
Repeat, having passed a couple.

Perle and Ed Feldman have been active in Folk dancing in Southern California longer than anyone else knows. They personally witnessed the formations of the Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County and San Gabriel Valley Branches of the RSCDS. Though charming little Perle no longer feels up to the rigors of Scottish Country Dancing, Ed has been a regular at the Culver City class for many years.
